Violin by Mario Gadda, 1968
Fully restored by the Davidson Violins shop, this Italian violin is in excellent condition with the power and beauty we expect from fine Italian violins. Mario Gadda was the son of Gaetano Gadda who was the only apprentice to the well-known Mantua violin maker Stefano Scarampella. Mario was born in 1931 and learned violin making from his father. The father and son team worked collaboratively for many years. Mario continued making violins until his death in 2008. This violin is a superb example of his work.
