Here's our best advice on this type of purchase:  Where you purchase it matters more than what brand it is.  We are proud of our Explorer series, but these instruments are carefully prepared to be for new players.  Viola experts know that it is the details that make an instrument sound great and play easily.  Custom fitted bridges, tailpieces, fingerboards, nuts and pegs insure it is easy to tune and play.  Real ebony, maple and spruce woods are essential.
